This is what femtis stands for.
You should feel safe and comfortable during every phase of your cycle. That’s why we develop high-quality period underwear and focus on responsible production. With us, you always get clear words instead of empty promises.
Why switching to period underwear is worth it.
Did you know that a menstruating person uses around 14,000* tampons or pads over their lifetime? That creates a lot of waste — and puts a strain on your skin, your wallet, and your nerves.

Period underwear is different. And for many: better.
- Reusable instead of disposable
- No slipping, no strings, no worries
- Soft, safe, breathable – day & night
And you don’t have to constantly think about the next change.
Info.
For your safety and comfort, we recommend changing your panty after a maximum of 8 hours – or sooner if it feels full. The exact wearing time depends on your flow strength and the absorbency level you choose.
What's inside your femtis?
Our period panty ROMY doesn't just look good – it's got a lot going on inside. Literally. Because ROMY is made of four clever layers that work together to ensure a secure, dry, and comfortable wearing experience.
Period Panty – ROMY.
The four-layer system of ROMY (heavy) absorbs the equivalent of up to 2.5 tampons – offering reliable leak protection even during heavy periods.
ROMY is washable at 40 °C, durable, and ready for many cycles with you.
You don’t need biocides.
Our panties work entirely without antibacterial additives. femtis deliberately avoids biocides such as silver chloride – because we believe: only what’s necessary belongs near your intimate area.
Tested & Traceable
Some of our styles have been tested according to the FEMTECHMAS-6513-1:2023 standard by Hohenstein. This independently evaluates how absorbent the layered area in the gusset is and whether the measured absorption capacity matches the values we state. The testing standard itself does not define fixed minimum or target values. Find more information here:
Who actually makes your femtis?
Our panties come from a production facility we’ve worked with closely and trustfully since 2018. The factory is located in China and is managed by Rose, who is deeply committed to empowering women in her company. Currently, 75 women and 38 men work there – a team that truly knows what matters.
What matters to us:
Responsibility? We take it seriously.
That’s why we don’t just rely on good intentions, but on clear rules: Our Code of Conduct defines what we – and our partners – live and expect: socially, ecologically, transparently.
But one thing is also clear: paper alone doesn’t change anything. We believe in genuine dialogue and long-term collaboration with everyone involved in our products. What does that mean? We meet in person as often as possible – and stay in touch across borders in between.
Let’s get started.
Transparency is important to us – even if that means admitting that we’re only at the beginning.
Our To-Dos
- Measure and communicate CO₂ emissions
- Source our cotton styles as certified (OCS)
- Use recycled materials
- Further disclose our supply chain – down to every detail
- Shift more to sea freight, less to air freight
OCS Certification for Our Products
In the future, we want to have our period underwear OCS certified. Why not GOTS? Our production facility is GOTS certified – a standard for high environmental and social standards. However, we currently can't certify our period underwear under GOTS, because in addition to the permitted PU protective layer, other functional materials are used that don't meet GOTS requirements. This is simply a challenge with period underwear, as it needs to meet different criteria than regular clothing. The Organic Content Standard (OCS) verifies the share of organically grown cotton and enables its traceability along the supply chain. For the intimate area of our products, we use organically grown cotton.
Transport
n the past, 100% of our products arrived by air freight. Today, we're rethinking our logistics – with the goal of gradually shifting to sea freight. From 2026, at least 50% of our shipments should be transported by sea, and in the long term, we aim to reduce the share of air freight to below 2%.
Summary.
Yes – (still) no CO₂ balance, (still) no seals.
But we’re working on it. And we’ll take you along on the journey.
Giving Back – small projects with big impact.
We know we can’t save the world. But we can do something – and we’ve started. femtis regularly donates to projects that promote education, equality, and period justice.
Example: Around 500 returned panties were donated to Period e.V. – reaching those who truly need them.
And that’s just the beginning.

In short: We don't label our panties as "sustainable" across the board. Like any product, they have an impact on the environment. At the same time, femtis panties are designed for multiple use and intended as an alternative to single-use menstrual products. Let us explain: A menstruating person uses around 14,000 tampons and pads over the course of their life (source: www.healthline.com). By using period underwear, you can reduce your need for disposable products. Our panties are designed for multiple use, washable, and free from biocides and silver chloride. For us, responsibility means above all: being honest, not promising perfection, and developing our products step by step.
