Our mission

femtis – Education through period underwear!

7 out of 10 people who menstruate in Germany still use conventional disposable tampons and pads—and are increasingly bothered by the cost, packaging waste, and discomfort. Almost half would like to switch to reusable period underwear, but in reality, fewer than seven percent have made the switch.

femtis Vision - safe . comfortable . period

femtis is committed to education. Our mission is to raise awareness around menstrual health and promote transparency. We stand for safety, comfort, and authenticity—at every stage of life.

Our beginning

Our beginning

The idea to develop our own period underwear first came to life in 2017. While traveling through the USA, we discovered this sustainable alternative—which had already given tampons and pads a serious break over there. After testing it ourselves and with friends, we were excited by the new sense of freedom, comfort, and confidence it brought. That’s when we knew: we need this too—and femtis was born. With passion and hard work, we launched our first period panty, JULE, in 2018.

What matters to us

What matters to us

We regularly support social projects across various fields that promote self-determination and women's health. Since 2018, we’ve contributed in-kind donations to the following initiatives:

  • Bridgers Foundation Cameroon
A non-profit organization in Cameroon committed to gender equality and female empowerment. A key focus is breaking the taboo surrounding menstruation.

  • Starke Frauen (Strong Women)
A project by Selbsthilfe für Wohnungslose Hannover that supports unhoused and homeless FLINTA individuals in their everyday challenges.

  • International Association of Westphalian Children’s Villages
A children’s village in Peru that cares for street and orphaned children. We provide period underwear to support menstruating girls and young women there.
